ticking engine

I've been to three different mechanics; one told me the EGR Valve in this engine causes this problem and he has heard it multiple times. The dealership two different service managers said its normal with no explanantion. To me it sounds like a leaking exhaust manifold it quites down after I drive it awhile.

Modmech or Votermaniac have you heard about this problem or been able to resolve it. Do you guys know anything in regards to Fords response to door cracks?

Well this thing finally shat on me, the ticking became a popping noise like an exhaust popping, some regular noise this is. I could never get aawy with this kind of trobleshooting at work. I'm glad I wasn't travelling with my family. The service manager said , " he was listening for a ticking noise and couldn't hear it or locate it " Thats funny, the service assistant girl at Sanderson heard it as well as the service writer there. Now I'm going back to where this started and start from scratch. Has anyone else had this problem.

The ticking noise was a spark plug getting ready to go, #4 made an escape and shot out of the head. No dealer will sell the mechanic ahead and it is on national back order.
