Hi did someone have or tested an Apexi Power intake filter in an 2G Eclipse GSX. If yes I would like to know what you think about this filter. It's an 200 $ filter so I would like to know if it worth the money.
Thanks

The Apexi is a good filter, but so are others, for less. Apexi, as well as most companies, haven't posted dynocharts for their filters making it difficult to know which is best.

From a theoretical basis K&N is the best filter. The resistance is slim, the size is larger than others, it's oil based, and it's reuseable. To boot, it's half the price. K&N doesn't get enough respect in the tuning world, probably because it isn't JDM. The other proof behind K&N is that the filter has taken several DSMs to low ET quarters. Apexi can't say the same.

Most JDM brands can overcharge because Import Tuner says they're good for Civics :) A better bet is to buy the best part for the car, whatever the brand. For performance and money, there are better alternatives.

Not everything Apexi is junk. Their exhaust is nice.

Air filters are only going to do so much. If it flows more air, it filters less. If it filters better, it will flow less. You can't really have both so you need to find that happy medium. K&N seems to have found that happy medium, IMHO.

This is a filter test and the apexi power intake filter filters the most of all and has the best airflow. K&N is not bad to but is not as good as the Apexi

Keep in mind those numbers are for a Supra. Also keep in mind that the K&N filter for DSMs is twice the size of the one they tested ;)

Your HP gains will vary.

What about ebay filters? They are the dry mesh type just like the Apex'i. And you can drop $170 off the price tag. The thing about tests though is that they need to be done more than once to be credible. If there were three seperate independent tests then I would believe it. There really neeeds to be a Consumer Reports for car parts.
