Could someone please help me with my horn. I have a used vehicle and the previous owners had installed a button below the steering wheel so that they could honk the horn whenever they needed to. The problem is that whenever I make a sharp turn, the horn would go off on it's own. I don't how to get into thesteering column with an airbag installed. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

How did they wire the other button in? What year is your Jeep?

There is a horn relay under the dash, taped to the harness. You could bypass the wiring in the column if the po didn;t do it already.

Is the used vehicle a 1984 through 2000 Jeep Cherokee? Not the Grand Cherokee, but the Cherokee? If it is you can purchase a Haynes repair manual number 50010 that explains how to get to all the steering electrical systems that may be causing the problem. Or it's most likely a problem with that retro fit switch or the wiring. I had a buddy back in the seventies out in Blythe who had a '61 GMC truck that honked its horn everytime we made a right turn. It was a lot of fun when there were some cute girls at the corner because he was a shy Baptist minister's son and the girls thought he was being fresh. I begged him not to fix it but he did by pulling the steering wheel and fixing the frayed wire. It's something simple like that on yours too most likely.
