Rear Model Emblem

How do you remove the rear emblem, the actual model number not the BMW logo.. Is it adhesive? or is it screwed in from behind..?

Warm it with a heat gun for a few minutes. Then gently pull back on it and see if the adhesive is coming off with the alphanumerics, or if its sticking to the car. If it is not coming off, heat it some more and repeat the process again and again. If for some reason it still doesn't come off cleanly, try using a credit card-like object to push the adhesive along as you pull the emblems up. Try not to pull it off while leaving the residue behind... it's a pain in the butt getting it off afterwards. If you do get it off but there is still a little bit of the sticky left, just roll it back and forth with your fingers. DO NOT use any type of metal object when scraping.

If you do not have a heat-gun, try a hair dryer. But it will probably take around 30 minutes of heating before the first attempt.

NOTE: If you are ever going to reapply the emblems (perhaps if you sell your car), besure to take measurements before removing, so you know where they go (but I dont recommend this since each number/letter is independant, increasing the chance of misalignment...a dealer/bodyshop can make it like new.)
