Fuel Filter

Got a 98 Wrangler last summer. Just had it in at my local mechanics for some work, and I asked him to change the fuel filter. He said its not a serviceable item, jeep put a 100K built in filter of sorts in that year.
So, somehow it has to be able to be changed, whats the strory here?

There's a post about a TJ fuel filter a few lines below your's. I think it's for a 97 wrangler but they should be in the same location. See if that helps.
