tailgate lock

does anyone have a good way to lock the tailgate for a 82' toyota pickup.

Do you have a cover or a shell for the bed? My friend used a couple of hasps and padlocks installed on the inside of the tailgate and used a locking cover to secure his bed. I got a locking tool box for mine.

its an old cab so you can still get it open when you have the t-bar down, so im thinking like pad locks or something but im not sure
