i have a 1990 hatchback DX , and im wanting to swap the engine.

i was leaning more towards a b16, but my wallet dosent agree : /
so i saw some stuff on a ZC swap...

im assuming since it is an SI engine i will have alot easier time with this swap. on that note. what will i need?

im gonna go with the ZC engine & tranny , and im gonna get a new clutch too. as for an ECU what would you recommend?
what else am i gonna need to do?

also is the ZC = VTEC ? ive seen post talking about SOHC ZC ....
i was under the idea ZC was not VTEC.

so will i notice the performance goiing from stock DX to ZC? and will it deliver nice pick up?

and last but not least, where to get quality ZC engines... thanks guys :)

Since you have a DX, and not a Si, you have the DPFI. Which means you have 2 fuel injectors, versus four. So you will need to pickup a few extra parts, like a injector resisotr box, stuff like that. Then you will need to wire in the extra 2 injectors. Info on this can be found here. (http://hybrid.honda-perf.org/tech/4gdxtozc.html) For the ECU, you will either need to pickup a 88-91 Si ECU, or even better the 88-89 Integra ECU. But the ZC motor is a great motor. I think the specs are 137 bhp @ 6800, with like a 7400 redline. Oh, it is non vtec as well. Now your tranny, you dont need to use the ZC tranny. You can use either the Si tranny, and your DX tranny. Using the DX tranny is not recommended, since it is geared more for fuel economy. That link I gave you, has some good info on the ZC motor, and the ZC setup. As for getting a ZC motor, they are everywhere. :)

Ok the JDM zc is a dohc non v-tec 130 hp from the JDM crx SI model. I don't really know why they call the sohc v-tec zc's? Anyways to get your swap done you have to convert your wiring from a dual point to multi point. Second if your goin to get the zc tranny then you have to get the integra axles in order for your tranny to fit rite. Third you can grab an ecu from the '88-90 integra. Of course you'll notice the difference on that motor especially over the weak dx motor. I'm not sure where u can find a good quality zc.
