97 Cobra Rebuilt Engine Smoking

My son has a 97 Cobra and just had a rebuilt engine installed. The engine runs fine but throws off a fair amount of whitish-blue smoke. He was told by the engine supplier and another source that time should be allowed for the rings to seat properly and the problem should go away. He's put about 200 miles on the engine and we've checked the oil level daily. It's always checked full and it looks clean. We've checked the coolant also and it looks fine. Has anyone else experienced this with aluminum block engines and if so, how long does it usually take to stop smoking? It smokes from both exhaust pipes and is moderate at idle and worse on acceleration. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

it should not be smoking. but sounds like rings. check for oil in your intake tract.

I had a problem like that once. I had too much back pressure in the block. try using an oil cap that it vented or you might have a hose going to your oil fill make sure it going to the right place
