Do you top off the gas when you fill the gas tank?If you do that,do not top off the gas tank, stop when it clicks. That is what happened to my grandma's car,my father replaced the oxygen sensor 3 times but, it was a Saturn. My father found out after asking her this. She topped off the gas tank and it set off the check engine light.I found out about this from a Vetronix rep my father knows.

I agree with you. Overpressures can occur inside the gas tank when cold fuel warms and overpressures the fuel delivery components. I expect this results in a very lean mixture at the cylinders; which could dump still volatile exhaust into the cat, and burn up the O2 sensor.
It could also be the cat showing signs of wear.
Seems logical anyways.
Good call imo.
