:confused: crank sensor installation

i have a 92 grand am with the crank sensor on the crank pulley (3.3L) does anyone have an easy way of adjusting it its has to go precisely in between the rings and i just cant get it right. the first time i installed it i had it touching the rings and it got destroyed. it has to be perfect or the car wont run does any one have a trick on doing it quick easy and right. boy is it a pain why cant they just do it like the fixed ones on the block

Check this out, it near the bottom of the page, seems you have to fuss with the harmonic balancer too, on your engine to deal with the sensor, yuck.

If it wasn't such a pain to pull the pulley, I'd pull the pulley out and install the sensor that way. Would be much better than working in that tight space on engine to get the silly thing in right.
