Steering Clunks when turning left

It started a few weeks ago. When turning a corner my steering locked up and didnt striaghten out, i had to yank on the steering wheel, then it clicked back, almost like it had had the steering lock on. Since then, whenever i turned right, there would be a clunking sound, and the steering wheel would jerk. I took it to a garage who found nothing wrong with it. The drove it around, and they must have had a magic touch because it stopped as soon as they finished driving it (they drove it round a tight circle so the steering wheel was fully turned). It was fine for a fortnight, and i havent hit any curbs since then, or bumped it in anyway, but now when i turn LEFT its started to clunk again.
Any ideas whats up with it?
Please help!
Thanks

Take it to another garage. Have them go for a drive with you so you can show them the symptom. Any garage who road tests in tight circles doesn't seem to realize that cars are not normally driven like that,, so of course they won't duplicate the problem
