So I pull into the driveway today and pull up the Ebrake and notice the car jerks to one side. So I jack up the car with the EB on and the right rear tire spins completly freely. The cable isnt even pulled. Now the del sol was different from the EG's and what not because the equlizer for the cable is in the car while for the sols' the equlizer is underneath. So im pulling the exhaust tomorrow to get to it because im guessing that the cable for the right side came off. Has this ever happened to anyone else?

Well, it turns out the kid that was helping me doesnt know shit cause the cable was intact and moving on the caliper and he told me it wasnt when I pulled the Ebrake. So the whole caliper needs to be replaced. Went to the local junkyard - 2 sols, both S models, all the civic EX's alreay had the calipers gone so I got some off a teg and had to get the hose also to make work. all in all problem fixed and Im gonna take it easy on the ass draggin for a while cause I think thats what killed the caliper.

the ass dragging definatley doesn't help. I may be able to solve your ass dragging problem though. My friends and i developed an awesome way to "drift" a front wheel drive car with our tearing shit up. Steal some trays from Mc'Donalds or any other fast food place (the thicker the better). Place them in front of your back wheels and drive over them. Then, pull your e-brake as hard as possible and proceed to drive off. The ass end will slide around like your in snow. The trays last for about a good 5 drifts, then its time to let the e-brake down. The best part is, if you are getting really sideways and need to bail, you can just let the e-brake down, and instant traction....kinda feels like whiplash though. Try it out, its fun as hell.

yea I've been meaning to try that sometime. There is a parking lot around here, secluded, well lit, and turns into glass when it rains so thats the only time I use the Ebrake but I guess it wore out the caliper. Another solution to the ass draggin is get a rwd, and I'm really considering selling the sol for a 300zx.

!@#$%^& yea I'm beyond pissed/frustrated because i just finished putting on the new caliper, bleeding the system, tweaking the eBrake and now I think that the left rear caliper has shitted out. Its the opposite of what happened before. The ebrake will lock the wheel fine, but will not release. The right wheel with the new caliper is fine. I needed to vent.

yeah my friends integra just did something simmaler to what your sol is doing exept vice versa he was pretty pissed when he found out that the calipers messed up because he was constantly drifting well that was about 3 months ago and he and i both have stuck to "tray sliding" and bye the way taco bell trays are the easyist to still and are kinda thick

I use the trays that the 20oz bottles of coke come in. They're about 4" thick, and if you're careful, they won't shatter as you roll onto them. And even better, you don't have to "steal" them. Just ask at your local gas station... they usually have tons of them around. I get two under each wheel. I flip them towards each other and offset them a little so it's like one big tray.
And about the brakes.. that's why you just replace everything at once ;-)
