questions about some 1st gens

well in my area there have been a few 1st gen mr2's popping up for sale, and i've just been wondering if they are very easy to tune, i am new to car racing, but know main things from kart racing and such, and i kinda want a cheap autocross car and these seem perfect, i've seen most in my area going for around 800$ to 2000$ and am very interested in them, are parts easy to come by, i've noticed on some older cars its a little hard to get parts, and are there any type i should get, like different types of special editions or something?

they aren't very difficult to set up, if that is what you are asking. Parts aren't too tough to find, though there are a limited amount of things you can tune.

if you can find a supercharged car, that is probably your best bet.
