I'm building this for a friend (as I'm waiting parts and planning how to do the EVO). I can't find a stock version, this is the cheapest and closest I find, the front bumper is different, it comes with side skirts and rear wing too but I didn't put them on. Also the interior panels are different. Here are some progress pics..

The middle to rear exhaust was painted with Tamiya silver marker, it's really shiny :)

yes... the model is of a Silvia Q's... which is the NA version. It comes with a different front bumper then the ones that are turbo(which is the bumper we get here)

Man, I'm still waiting for my local hobby shop to bring that kit in for me. :o

Like this car. Used to drove S13. Even don't have such fame as Skylines, all Silvias are very nice looking cars

Thanks for the comments :D I love Silvias too, got an S13 and some S15 kits waiting on the shelf!

Phil, so is it true there's no kit of the right bumper? US NA front = JDM turbo front?

I'm hoping to build a series of Silvia and a series of Skylines someday.......... :)

that's right... US NA bumper is same as JDM Silvia k's (turbo)... no model of it...

but it doesn't look too hard to convert to convert it anyways... maybe when I get a life... and quite this dam job.. i'll make a US version 240sx

What's up with Tamiya's Silvia K's? The bumper looks kinda weird.

the Tamiya's Silvia K's is the older version... S13, vs. the one Hiro is making is S14 :)

I meant compared to other S13s..I have the latest issue of SCC where there's a S13 fully converted to j-spec...the bumper on the Tamiya model only has one hole compared to two on the one in SCC...

I'm not too familiar with the S13's production run, but I guess they changed the bumper for later years in Japan.

oh sorry, i mis-read it...

buy ya, there are TONS of versions of S13 in Japan as well as around the world. and there are also TONS of aftermarket ones that look so clean that a lot of people will think it's a factory bumper.

but in model wise, what ever the bumper the model kit has, it's usually the 1st released edition. which was usually when a manufacture decides to release the kit. :)

Looks good. I'm curious as to how you painted the driveshaft and exhaust piping and such on the underchassis. If I know my Fujimi Silvia's, they are molded as one big piece, not unlike Tamiya's WRX. Didya do it very carefully, or are you going to let me in on some big secret? :)

Also, how do you feel about the lack of detail in the interior door panels?

Exhaust pipe and muffler, and all the suspension parts (black parts) are separate from the underchasis so those are ok. I used a black marker for parts that are on the chasis piece... that was pretty easy, is that cheating? :P

Yes the door panels have no details at all, that's too bad, it looks totally different than the real thing.

haha I wish they make a jacket or sth. I think the teddy looks too shiny, I've sprayed some matt coat but didn't help much.

i think the teddy bear looks classy.

might have to get one myself. No it would look wrong in the ferrari and just plain odd in a race skyline:(

Wow, it looks great! I like the stuff you put in the back seat. That's a nice touch. It makes it seem more like someone actually owns the car and uses it.
