i own a 99 mustang convert. with a 3.8 auto tranny can i put a 5.0 into it or will i have to settle for the 4.6

lol settle.... you can put a 5.0 in it but a 4.6 is definately easier.

Are you going with a stock v8 swap or are you going to build the 4.6?

If you are going stock just find a wrecked 99+ GT parts car and strip it for yours. Getting the 4.6 and all hardware & wiring ect, along with the tranny, driveshaft, and rearend.

If you plan to build the 4.6 you may want to upgrade your tranny over stock, get an aluminum driveshaft, and put steeper gears in the rearend.

Either way it wont be cheap and it wont be easy. But, have fun and do it right!

I would get most GT parts (cheaper) and if you could, pick up a cobra engine and wiring harness with the tranny. But you would have to be lucky to find one. whos ty?
