I have Dakota 2001 V6 4.7l 9300 km.
My "check the engine" light is on by two codes Po 442A EVAP small leek detected and PO455 EVAP cntr Gross leek detected. I can delete them but after day or two light come on again. My question is what my coast this problem and how to fix it.
I have oil leaking from crankshaft seal. Can anybody give me instructions how to replace the crankshaft gasket. I never done it before and I don’t know how difficult it is.
Thank you for advice.

Most of the time a 442 code is the gas cap that isn't tighten. Check that for starters!!

Thank you for answering to my question. I will check or maybe buy new cap to start with, any other suggestions?
Tanks again.

Those codes that you have found are gas cap leak codes. Check your gas cap make sure it has click three times or the rubber seals or cap has not crack. I replaced mine with the same codes found codes by turning on you key but not starting the engine. Turn key 10 times on for sure codes. You can get rid of the check engine light by taken the postive cable off from the battery for 10 seconds.

Hi Pagerman38
Thank you for advice. It works.
I have to be more carefull when I turn my gas cap. So the lights won't come back.
Do you know how to replace the crankshaft seal, or mayby you know where to find info.
Thanks again.

I knew that was the problem, had it happen to me a couple of years ago. To check for codes all you need to do is turn the key on-off 3 times and it will display the codes.
