There is a very noticable humming noise coming from my truck when I take my foot off of the gas after going 65mph and occasionally even when slowing down around 30mph but more often after being on the interstate. Any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated.
(I also posted this in the silverado forum before I saw that was for newer trucks so I apologize for being a spammer)

Tranny? Tires? Rear diff.? Engine? Etc?
You don't know the area it's coming from?

Tires is my guess. It only takes one bad one to give you a hum like that. I had tires once that caused a noise that sounded like a bad tranny or diff. I swore it was something mechanical. It was a tire...........

It could still be pretty much anything.
He said nothing that would indicate that the problem was the tires...over all the other possibilities.

I disagree. The clue (for me) is the high speed at which he notices the noise. MANY types of truck tires have a loud humming at high-speed, even when brand new. That's why I would lean towards bad tire(s) for this noise.
That said, I do agree that it could still be something else, maybe something silly like one of those wind deflectors that we all put on, and it's come a little loose.

i would check the boots on your 4wd shafts. if they are cracked, the cv joints inside could be on their way out. I know thats what one of the problems i have is
