Does your steering wheel lock?

Isn't the steering wheel supposed to lock when you turn it a little and when the auto transmission is in park with the engine off? Mine doesn't and was just wondering.

Mine does , but a guy at work has a 03 avalanche and his does not. He even called GM about it and they told him that on some vehicles they do not have a locking ignition/steering wheel.

That's weird as hell, you'd figure they'd make them the same. Thanks man.

Nope, remember that with the just in time schedules, GM may run into trouble getting some parts in stock, so they put something else in the trucks for a while, a part that they do have, it happens on non-esential items like these.
