I have a 1995 automatic cavalier. A couple of months ago it started making this banging noise while i was driving coming from underneath the car. It sounded like someone was banging the bottom of my car with a stick. I kind of ignored it. (probably a bad idea) Then it started spewing this green liquid onto the passenger side of the car, then it overheated (all in the same day) I had the heater core replaced, but then the car still kept overheating when driven. I looked at the car and realized a plug that connected to teh fan wasnt workign properly so i replaced it and it ran for a little while. Then it started stalling when stoped. I could start the car, but as soon as i put it in gear ut stalled , it's an automatic so I am confused. Is there anything I can do myself? I thank anyone who helps ahead of time for their time!

Is it still overheating when you let it idle? Sometimes when your car overheats, it's a good idea to get the thermostat changed as it may be damaged from overheating.
The banging noise... could you be more specific?
Also when does the car stall? When driving or all the time now? If it's just highway driving it's the TCC solenoid you need to unplug. Otherwise, I'd say you probably either have an O2 sensor problem or a fuel pump on it's way out. Possibly add a can of SeaFoam to your gas tank.

The banging sounds like someone hitting teh underside of the car with a stick. Could teh stalling be because i am low on gas

Perhaps you should put gas in and find out...
That and check to see if there is anything abnormal under your car. I've heard of everything from sticks to chain link fence to deer intestines wrapped up in the axle.
That or there really IS someone hitting the underside of your car with a stick! Probably a mexican.

Ok I just check and sure enough there was a mexican stuck in the underside of my car. I helped him out, took him in my house and gave him some coffee, only to find out his family had already moved in. Thanks DEADBIRD! What would I do without you!?

Yeah np... also don't forget to check your trunk. Probably a ton of reafer and tequila in it, possibly causing excessive wear on the shocks.
