Exhaust Question

The exhaust Im going to be putting in has no o2 sensor holes I believe. The downpipe definately doesnt but Im not sure about the catback because I dont have it yet. Can anything serious happen if I dont have those sensors in my exhaust? What would some fixes be besides wrapping them in aluminum foil?

Does your downpipe eliminate the cat? Well, another way I read to trick the sensor is by putting a bolt in the downpipes o2 sensor hole (if it has one) then just clamp the sensor to the side of the exhaust.
There's a discussion similar to this about 02 sensors:http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=196149
You should definitely read that forum especially since Kevin, the expert DSMer, is sharing his knowledge.

does the downpipe also eliminate the o2 housing? It's not in the downpipe. search around, i know there are several ways to eliminate the ECU's need for an o2 sensor at the cat.

Yes it doesnt have an o2 housing, sorry I should have made myself more clear.

I find it hard to believe. All DSMs need the front o2 sensor to run, so why would an o2 elim downpipe not have an o2 sensor bung? Are you absolutely sure it doesn't have a hole for it? Is it a DSM brand name piece? If not, you will need to do this custom or get one that has it.

its from megan racing, im assuming the bung is basically a hole in the downpipe towards the top? Ill try to post a pic of it or a link to it when i get a chance to look for it

That doesn't look like it removes the o2 housing. Your front o2 sensor stays where it is and does its job fine, in the (stock) o2 housing. The pipe narrows to accomodate the welds to the flex section, though.

Keep in mind that front o2 and rear o2 sensors are separate and very different.

The classiest solution would be to remove the rear o2 sensor and close the circut with a resistor. See vfaq here: http://vfaq.com/mods/O2bypass.html Aluminum foil also works.

I think I got mixed up, I was thinking about this earlier....Is the first o2 sensor in the o2 housing?? Because if so I have no problem, it would be just the rear o2 sensor I would be worried about, thanks for the help guys. Im trying to learn as much about cars(dsms too) so I can do a rebuild once my car doesnt run anymore.
