Brake question.

When braking my 2000 SE I notice a subtle pull to the left. It's not a hard jerky pull just and easy pull. I took the wheel off and it looks like one of the pads is thicker than the other. Could this be a caliper malfunction?

Could be # of things

Low air pressure in tire
Misaligned FE
sticking caliper
caliper needs bleeding

and it goes on to a warping rotor, etc. So far, check tire air first.

The alignment was done last week and the tire pressure is fine. I'm wondering about the caliper since the wear on the brake pads are worn differently. There is no pulsing in the wheel or pedal so I don't think the rotor is warped.

I that case, likely the caliper piston is either sticking or freezing up, causing excess pressure on the pad. Is it the inboard pad that shows the most wear? That is expected, within limits.

You could try to rebuild the caliper itself, kit is around, but ya need to hone the inner cylinder, pull and place some seals and boots, etc.

Best and easiest is to just bolt on a reman. caliper.
