I wanted to know, what can I do to slow down the way my fuel is being burned. I know this car burns fuel because it is a V-6 97" Pontiac Grand Prix, but is it something causing it to burn a lot of fuel? Can someone help me out?

How many miles per gal are you getting (in city or OTR)? The 02 sensors are a good starting point not counting the basics such as tire pressure, etc.

I never paid attention to the miles & Gas togther, but I can tell you it is sucking a whole lot of gas.

Since you have a problem with your Bank 1 02 sensor you might want to get that resolved first.

I called the dealership because that is where I got the part from and they said that I can take the car up to them and they check it for free. The guy said that I'll have to do that to get another part.

If you get the 02 sensor problem fixed with the AC Delco 02 sensor I mentioned in the other thread and get rid of that Bosch one your gas mileage will probably improve.

Plus if the dealer is willing to test the CAT convertor for free I'd take em up on the offer. Being the original and with that high mileage, a damaged or partially clogged CAT can destroy the fuel economy.

Good luck!
