4.7 gas mileage

I've recently been borrowing my fathers 2003 SXT and am curious as to what gas mileage you guys get. I get 14.5 with mostly highway and 11-12 around town. This is all with light foot......I would have thought the smaller engine would do better than this

And I Have A Lite Foot.but That Dont Stop Me I Love It

About 14 around town, best ever 18 on a trip. A lot of times we check and it gets 15 for the average.

I have an '01 4.7, and get 16 to 17, with about 75% highway time using regular unleaded.

I know this is an old post but i have a 4.7 also and it gets the same, Im just kinda shocked that it seems everyone is talking bad about the duragos in this forum, ive had my 01 for 4 years and have not had the slightest problem and i put this truck through hell, I go mud boggin in it, run it at the racetrack, and have driven it in 2 different floods. the only prob I have had is the front driveshaft has a bad joint in it and makes a rattling noise
