HEY GUYS,

I JUST GOT MY CAR BACK FROM HYUNDAI AFTER HAVING A CHECK UP. (FOR THE CEL LIGHT). tHE GUY SAID THE CAR WAS PERFECTLY OK EXCEPT FOR THE ALTERNATOR PROBLEM. HE SAID THE ALTERNATOR DIDNT GET ENOUGH VOLTAGE AND SO IT HAS TO BE REPAIRED. THE COMPUTER SAID CODE 07.

WELL, THE OTHER THING IS THE STARTING PROBLEM. IF U REFER TO MY PREVIOUS POST, I SAID THE STARTING PROBLEM IS NOW GONE.DAMN....WHY DID I SAY THAT...I WENT OUT TO DRIVE AGAIN AND THERE IT WAS....I DROVE A FEW KMS AND THEN PARKED MY CAR, TURNED IT OFF...AND IT REFUSED TO START AGAIN....

Well, I got the report from Hyundai dealers. It reads as follows:

11HYZZZ Electrical

* Check Engine management system-ECM light comes on
Hard to start

* Checked diagnostics code 07 in system.Requires
alternator repaired

Can u make anything out of this? Pls let me know the sloution.

Looks like you need an alternator. The 11HYZZZ is a labor op code for tracking purposes for the dealership. It means nothing to you. It looks like your alternator isn't putting out enough juice to keep your battery fully charged, thus causing a hard start condition. Replace your alternator and have your battery checked after you replace your alternator to make sure it is still good.

hey,
Thanks for the reply. i will check out for the alternator. Do u think the start problem has anything to do with the fuel pressure or with vapor lock?

Thanks again,
Cheers,
Raj

The starting problem. You say it refuses to start. Is it cranking and not starting, or is it a slow or no crank condition. If it's a slow or no crank, its more than likely your battery doesn't have enough juice to turn the engine over, which would be caused by your alternator not recharging your battery.

Yes, it does crank when I try to start. I mean it makes that noise when we usually get when we start our car. and the tachometer moves too..but it just refuses to start at times.

I might get my alternator repaired or maybe get a new one..

Thanks

Raj
