97 Fuel Gauge Problem

I have a digital fuel gauge on my 97 Deville and when the gauge gets down between 3 - 5 gallons, the gauge will start back up. As the tank gets closer to empty, the gauge reads Full. When the fuel starts to get low, I have to watch the fuel used reading. Does anyone know why it does this and is there a fix for this problem?

what is the problem

The fuel gauge goes from Full down to 5 gallons fine. When it gets below 5 gallons, it will then reverse itself and slowly start back up to 'Full', when the fuel tank is actually empty. The problem is that it is a false reading. I have a friend with the same model Deville and his does the same thing. Is there a way to fix this problem?

My fuel gauge slowly went from 3 Gallons to Full for no reason. Does anyone know how to fix this and how much it costs.

It sounds like the fuel level sensor is bad-It can be bought by itself-
They also call it a fuel sender card-

Thanks for that. I can not find any web references on buying a "fuel level sensor" or a "fuel sender card". Can you help!.
