You do know SLP intake is not recommended for the SS, right? atleast thats what I read at Thunderracing... well for 700 you could get borla catback or headers, magnaflow would be a lot cheaper though

Headers, to replace the restrictive exhaust manifolds. They are individual exhaust tubes for each cylinder that converge into one larger pipe. They will bolt on in place of the manifolds.
Since you say it is a California car I assume you live there? If so then you'll need headers that have a C.A.R.B. exemption.
check here for prices and mfg's. http://store.summitracing.com/

no egr?... well you have $700 and you are in cali... or the car is from there... I would probably get that fixed before they make you do emissions so that way you can actually drive you tricked out car. I guess maybe if you wanted, if you are into it, you could do some aestetic stuff. I know they sell spoilers for the 4th gens that resemble the old 1st gen ones and they are actually functional spoilers that do not look ricey... but headers, Edelbrock sells headers right? headers would probably be good...
and btw, I hate you for having a SS :)

First off get rid of the flowmaster, they are crap and they sound like it. If you have an SS mod it like an SS. Put on some hooker headers a hi-flow cat and a decent muffler, at least a magnaflow if not borla. Ditch the 160 degree stat too, it isn't helping keep your car cool once the coolant is over 160. Also look into some computer tuning that will help a ton. Oh yeah, I'm trying not to sound like a jerk but fluid additives aren't mods...

SLP lid is just fine. They actually make the most torque out of any of the competitors air lids and they are only third in horsepower behind the MTI. As far as your next modification, throw in about a $100 more and go with gears and Hypertech power programmer. 4.10's feel great with a 6-speed, 3.73s for the automatic. Don't go headers yet. You could purchase a good set for under $700, but to coat and install them, it would take you well over a grand!
