I have a '96 Bonneville SE. The fuel pump will shut off. When it does the power windows don't work, but the windows seem to pull power from the interior lights.
If anyone has any idea of what may cause this any help would be deeply appreciated.
Thanks,
Radster

ALso when I hit the Window Switch, the rear window defrost light comes on. I was told that it could be a bad ground but the grounds seem to be fine.

You certainly have some strange things happening there. When you say that the fuel pump "shuts off" does it blow fuses? The fuel pump can be shut down as a result of low oil pressure without blowing any fuses. The windows are a completely different circuit and usually protected by circuit breakers and not fuses.
When you get a chance, pull the carpet back from the kick panels and sills in the front foot wells and see how wet it is under there. There are a couple of ground buss connections located within the wire loom. Another member had a similar problem with the defroster light going on under certain conditions that involved the interior lights. I suggested the same thing to him but I don't think he ever responded with the results.
These cars are known for water leaks. I bought my car very cheap cause the seller could not track down a problem with the fuel pump fuse blowing. I removed the entire interior and replaced the fuse... haven't had a problem since. It was truly a swamp in the floor pans.
