Hi all-
I am in the process of taking this apart but I have a strange problem.
There is a liquid that drips only occasionally and it's coming from the heater/vent box area on the passenger side interior.
It smells like coolant. I am not sure why there would be any hose connected with coolant that would be inside the car.
It's a 65 mustang. Any ideas/thoughts?
thanks,
Rich

Sounds like a heater core leak.

I took the black casing off and there is coolant coming from the behind core or from the core itself (can't tell yet) and is inside the casing and drips from there (occassionally).
Does the heater core have to be replaced/the whole unit or is there suppose to be coolant there and is it just an outer casing seal problem?
thanks,
Rich

It is coolant. Most likely a hole has come in the core and it needs replacing. It is possible its leaking where the hoses connet to the core so check that first. More often than not, its the core
