Recently I've been hearing rumors that armorall is bad and that it can cause fading/premature cracking by actually drying out vinyl. I used this on my car's dash about a week before i heard the rumors. On the bottle it says it doesn't contain any harsh solvents or anything that can cause damage. How true is the myth that it is bad and did i do any severe damage just by using it (That was the only time i used it)? If so, how can i clean it off of my dash and what is a good product to use in the future?

I use westleys! I've heard that about armor all but never experienced it. The only reason I use westleysis because it doesn't leave a greasy look and feel to the dash and whatever else I use it on, instead it leaves this NICE satin finish on it, less glare, better look, and cheaper too!

My dash had started to crack on a pervious car, '93 Ford Taurus,

Used armorall and the cracks spread and worsened, and actually peeled parts in between the cracks up and out,

And where the dash had started to stretch and seperate, no longer connected to the dash panel by adhesive, but not cracked, seemed to stretch and detatch it further

I'll never use it again, definitely dryed the old vinyl out
