Airbag code

Some questions I'm wondering, about replacing my airbags (got a free set).

1) Where is the front airbag sensor? I can't find it (97 V6 Camaro).
2) I have new airbags to put in, but before I do it I was wondering about the airbag code. I'm assuming that if I just install my new ones they'll pop right out since the code is still there. If I remove the airbag fuse and disconnect the battery, will that reset it, or do I need to clear the code out of the computer?
3) Can I reset the airbag sensor, or is it a one time use type of thing?

I did an airbag install on my buddies car once, needless to say we didnt have a good time, but we had a broken steering column and everthing else in the way. I will try to find the instructions we used for the second go around.

The install I'm fine with, got my Chilton's right next to me... it's just the sensors and codes that I'm not too sure about, since they were triggered.

Got this answer off of camarov6, just wanted to make 100% sure

The Inflatable Restraint Sensing and Diagnostic Module is in the center column, next to the shifter. It uses an accelerometer to measure the force of an impact.

The service manual says that any time the airbag is deployed, you must change the SDM.

Suggestion: Don't crash.
Moral: Don't think you'll live forever
Food for thought: Don't think you will never get into an accident.
Lesson: Be prepared.
