98 2.3 cl - fuel gauge problem

i just bought a used 98 acura 2.3 cl, and I noticed that whenever I start slowing down (at a stop light or whatever), the fuel gauge slowly goes down. But when I accelerate again, the fuel gauge goes back up to where it was originally. Any ideas of what is happening?
