Brake and Air question...

First since i bought my 2001 GA SE 2.4L i have had it for a year now, the brakes feel like the abs is slightly working it feels like the rotors are warped, but i had the rotors replaced last summer and the brakes seemed fine they stopped smooth but for a while now they feel warped again and it feels like the abs is slightly working there no grinding noise but the car feels like the calipers grip the rotor then let go then grip again, also last summer before i ahd them changed i asked the mech to check the brakes he said the frint had 15% and the back 30% then the front were replced so they were 100% but last month i ad some routine stuff done and i asked them to check the brakes they said the front were 70% and the back were 80% but i havent had rear brake work done, anyone got any ideas also when i first start driving the brakes are smooth but after ive been driving and stoppin it feels like the rotors are sticky i think there heating up and not cooling down fast enough how do i fix this, if i wanted to change the rotors and get some cross drilled rotors and get a more performance brakeing system for the front and rear what should i go with, now the air i dont think my air intake that i put on is pulling in anough air i need to move it down more to where stock intake sat, how else could i get more air under the hood, rember my car is 2001 2.4l se theres no ram air or anything just an aftermarket intake that i put in, also if i wanted to change the suspension for a more performance system what should i go with, i need the sizes for the brakes and everything,

Thanks alot.... sorry for writng so much...

Kidlex,

I'm not sure about your ari intake issue, but as for the brakes...your rotors may be warpped again. It has happened to me. I put a new set of rotors on and a short time later they were warpped. One way to minimize this is to make sure you keep the rear brakes adjusted. you can do this[with out getting under the car] by driving in reverse (you do not need to get a great deal of speed but you can't go slow either)then pull up on the parking brake, you may need to do this several times. After that use the parking brake when you park this also helps to keep the rears in adjustment.

I'm sure others on the forum will have ideas on your air intake issue.

Hope this helps.

Kidlex, how do you have your intake setup? More details would be very helpful - we can figuire out the downfalls from there.

For the suspension, check out

all those guys have good suspension stuff

my airintake the filter sits almost level with the battery and i think it needs to be down more where the original system drew fresh air in from theres a vent that the air travels up and would go into the honeycomb set up i have a pic of the engine ill email it to you just gimme your email if you want...

Yeh a picture would help kidlex. From what you're describing, I can think of a couple things, but go ahead and shoot me a pic at [email protected].
