 Well actually a lot of help. I purchased a 1996 blazer 4WD for my son who was in college. He has been home since Dec and its just sitting out in the garage. Great shape, as a matter of fact I got the bug again looking at it.

If anyone could help as I am dizzy looking over the internet. I would appreciate any info I can get on the following.

1 What type of suspension kit should I get for approximately 6 inche lift and where can I get it. Want to go full out so it must be the best around

2 Any info on changing over to an 8 cylinder, like, do I change the entire drive train to hold up the greater power/torque or is it OK the way it is.

3 Body lift, read a bazzilion of them, I am dizzy.

With a 6 inch suspension lift and added 2 inch body lift, what are the biggest tires I can put on it.

Thanks to anyone helping the new guy out

Trailmaster (best) for a 5" and SLP for a 6

Yes, you can drop a v8 in there... You have lots of choices... Easiest would be a 5.7 vortec for 96 on up... You will need the following though for just about any v8..

Engine
Harness
ECM
Reprogram the ECM
Conversion shorty headers
Throttle cable
conversion oil pan
conversion motor mounts
e-fan
and a few other odds and ends.

Performance accessories and Trailmaster make the 2" body lift for our trucks. Personally for the second gens the PA one is much better because of their bumper relocators (front and rear)...

Costs: Suspension lift... 1500.00 not installed
Motor and parts, 2000-3500 not installed
Body lift.. 100.00 not installed

Thanks very much. Ordered the one from Trailmaster and Going to look at a place down here in Phoenix, Becks Racing, tomorrow. Guy builds beautiful motors at an affordable price. Thanks again for the help
