xenon headlights

hi i was looking forward to install xenon headlights instead of factory headlights
but last time i did that with my 94 cav they burned my switch
the autoparts clerck told me the wattage of those lights were higher than the factory lamps
problem is i dont know how many watts the factory lamps are so i can look for a match
if anyone knows please let me know
is a cavalier 2000 thanks in advance :confused:

I haven't had a problem with mine burning out.

I have seen "conversion kits" that include a relay along with a thicker gauge wiring to handle the higher current larger bulbs require. You may want to explore that route as well. Don't forget that more watts usually means more heat. There isn't a whole lot of room inside those headlights...
