Okay, well I am new here, *does wave, hey every1. I have a '00 venture, and its got 210,000 Kilometers on it. I have been reading other transmission problems, mine has lots of same characteristics, but little different :
Started (when it was cold) slipping when pulling away. Did this for quite a while, then stopped. But after it stopped shifts got really hard, just on occasion. I would shut van off for like 2min, start up and it would be gone, along with the wine from tranny.. (I guess i should tell u I have a cone style filter on it, idk if this matters). It would go into gear and lunge van ahead, even with breaks on. Driving it in "3" and shifting to "d" would be really rough. Until it got warmer the shifts would be hard with a loud wine from side by airbox (tranny), then it would be better. So tonight i took Postive cable off battery, to reset comp. Left it off 5 min. pull away, smooth as glass. Its great now, I am still going to clean MAF with contact cleaner, and put stock airbox setup back on it. If i go new maf ill go granatilli. Anyways Its shifting better, im just curios what u think problem is.

Also, would a good contact cleaner be good to clean the MAF?

Okay, well just for an update, i took off the MAF and on the top portion of it, there are for vertical posts, each with a small wire in between. the small wire on the left was black. I used contact cleaner, all the lil wires were shiney and free of any sut. Put on stock air box asse. And reset comp on more time. Van drives like it just came off the showroom floor:) I am very pleased lol
PS it also idels smooth as glass and is more responsive, and is easier to start

Maf = mass air flow sensor
Reset comp, well i unhooked one side of battery for a good 30min.
DIDNT HELP!!! Van is at GM right nowwith tranny out. Damage is as follows
-4th gear clutch shaft
-Pressure solinoid
-trq converter support bracket
-a gear (ddint say what 1)
-gaskets, fluid etc
total will be under 2500, or around it :)
Not bad....at least it didnt damage main thing, big things, bands, clutches etc
