I have a 1994 2dr Sierra 1500, and just won this head unit off of ebay- http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=5768672800&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWN%3AIT&rd=1 Now I haven't recieved the unit yet, but I'd like to be ready for when it gets here. What do I all have to do to make it fit properly? I have seen a lot of people put their head units where the tape deck originaly goes...is this a good idea? If it is, how hard is it to rewire all the stuff over there? Any input is appretiated!

get a stereo installation kit and an antenna adapter. all the wires you want are at the radio brain box which is behind the ashtray. check out 12volt.com they have all the wiring diagrams you need

I installed my pioneer unit in the center position, basicly the same unit as you are getting, as far as size,They sell an adaptor/spacer at most stereo places, dealer also sells them, becaust space behind that area is tight, "I did not use one I did not like the look" and my unit fit , but it was VERY tight, I would segust after market speakers as well, your stock units will not do the new unit it's full justice,
wiring is pretty straight forward. I pulled new hot wires from the harness since the stereo will pull much more power than the stock one,
all together just about every install i have seen has been in this position, so it does work, enjoy your new sounds.
