Painting over a see-through body...

Im picking up a rare Ford Escort RS1800, and the body is clear to see all of the detail. Since I cant seem to find this kit anywhere as made by a different company (insert link to an amercian site that sells a revell one here), Im going to buy the rare kit for some decent cash. But Im asking 2 things...
1.I will paint the body a solid color, IE you cant see through it. Do you think ill be ruining the model?
2.Are there any concerns painting over this type of clear material?
I imagine one of you guys out there has painted over something like the clear bodied toyota gt1, so let me know if Im just fretting.

I donŽt think youŽll have any problems painting the plastic, although IŽd recommend you to paint the inside of the body aswell to prevent a possible "see-through".
Good luck!

like with polycarbonate, paint the inside flat black and you preffered colour the outside use primer for both sides the black inside will prevent any transparency.

about the ruining model issue,my idea for the gt1 i was i gonna build was paint half the body and fade the paint back into the clear so it will still have that paint job you love but was also clear.

Just prepare/paint it the same as you would any other model body.
If it was me though, i'd be leaving it clear to show off all the detail seen its such a rare kit

Personally I would wait and get hold of the Revell re-issue, it's unlikely you will ever see a clear version of this car released again. Just my 0.02..

I would save it aswell and get the re-issue of it.
