oil guage

i got a autometer oil guage on my guage pillar, and its connected behind the water pump, its mechanical. if i stop fast and the motor is hot the oil pressure drops to 0 but will come back up after a second, or if a rev it. now is that oil rushing outa the guage cuz its on the piller combined with the fact thats its on the top of the block causing it to rush out of the line?? it should be ok right?
