Just another dumb question

Now this may sound like a dumb question maybe because it is but I am having a hell of a time trying to enter a picture into either my signature or even my posts. I have mastered how to enter a picture into my avatar slot but can't figure out the other two areas. What am I doing wrong? I searched for a minute and didn't find any actual help so I had to post my own, sorry.

Theres no way that I can take images straight from my hard drive?

Nope, you can't link from your hard drive.

Go to http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/index.php and click the "My Gallery" link and you can upload a pic.

how are 2,000 people going to access your hard drive through the internet every time they want to see the picture? No, it has to be hosted somewhere online.
