hey i bought a intake tube the 3" one specified in other posts
i got a cone filter from walmart and a piece of pvc connecting rubber and put it all together where my stock air box was
but yet my car does not get a deep sound it still sounds stock
any ideas what the fuck could be wrong with it? or what i did wrong?
and where can i put that sensor from the airbox

Walmart filters are shit, Get a K&N Xstream or go stock IMO.
Maybe a high flow filter from RiceHQ (AZ) but I would just go with a RX-4750 X-Stream
You need to use a silicone reducer, nothing else for where the pipe connects to the TB.
If you purchased the correct pipe (92-00civ and 94-00 teg) you should be alright but you MUST cut 3" or so off the long end since it will be too long.
I'll show you what I did:

A heat shield is best but make sure to watch it since these motors flex...here is a video of a L67 person:

follow my post and instructions and you will be sound.
wtf would you buy anything your car at walmart?
It is a guy at a autoparts store...so no he is wrong.
you want a 3" to 3" coupler or a 3.25" to 3" coupler...both will work.
You also need to use the pipe mentioned...others have to much of a bend or not long enough.
Have any pics?

do you have a checking account? ajusa takes paypal too. 60 bucks is a good deal for that filter.
If you buy a generic pipe you are buying the wrong one.... YOu need to BUY THE ONE MENTIONED. others have too much of a bend or are too short.

the filter you can get from summit racing. Their's is 60 bucks. as far as the intake goes ebay is the way to go. I bought mine for 15.00 and 10.00 to ship. If you do not have an ebay account somebody you know must have one just pay them and have them order it.

Not any pipe will work with the l27 or any 3800 for that matter. You need to use the one specified, only availiable at some autozones or on ebay at some times. Never use PVC. Always use silicone couplers 3" to 3".
Just drop the project if you are not going to do it right. Just like why use a flathead when a philips is required.
