Happened to find a 1995 3000GT (Not sure which model, just sure that it's not a VR4) for sale for 3,500 with 131k miles. Took it out for a drive and there was a vibration (a strong one) under the car, not sure what it is. Is this a good deal or should I be cautious about this?

probably a base model. obviously the vibration is a concern. ask the owner about it. have it taken to a shop and looked at before you purchase.

Well the seller of the car said that he was getting the plates and the insurance removed from the car tomorrow, so we can't take it to our mechanic. Would it be worthwhile to try to bring our mechanic out to him (40+ minutes) or would it be useless since he wouldn't have most of his tools and stuff?

If the guy decided to remove the plates once you asked him to take it to a mechanic.... he probably knows that you won't buy it when you know whats wrong.... i'd personally stay away from it, unless you are sure you can fix the problem for a good price.
As far as taking a mechanic out to the car... it guess it would be worth it, but i'd suggest just taking a friend who either knows engines real well, or someone who know 3000gt's well. It's alot cheaper.

I would suggest to you to buy one which has no problems or at least small problems, Because it will make you get bored, except if you know a good mechanic, and have the money to fix it.

My issue is that I can get a few Dodge Stealths with around 100,000 miles for 5k, but they're all in NJ. Then again, I might not be able to get one because of insurance. Checked with my insurance agent last night...It'd be 3,400 for just 6 months. Minimum wage won't cover the insurance on the car and the gas.
