New Suspension

Hell all. So i have a 97 civic ex and have 17 inch wheels with 215/40/r17 tires. I recently put in the front strut and springs. I have eibach prokit and koni red struts. When i put them on it made no difference. It didn't drop at all. Maybe i didn't put them on right but one of my buddies looked at it and said it was fine. What did i do wrong? I have no idea what the deal is so i plan on just selling all of it and starting over. WHat do you recommend for new suspension? I live in NH and live on a dirt road so i don't want anything too low. What about coilovers? What do you suggest?
