AC/heater blower motor squeal

Blower motor always screeches on start-up. I added oil to shaft/bearing interface which solves the problem temporarily at least. There is a lot of corrosion in the motor housing. I noticed about a 1" dia black hose that leads into the motor housing and suspect that water may be dripping through the hose and into the motor housing. Has anyone had this problem and do you know the purpose for the black hose?
Thanks for any info.

I think the purpose of the hose is to pick up forced air from the fan and direct it back into the motor for cooling purposes. You may want to check your evaporator drain, too.

Chuck,
I think Kmohr is refering to the black hose on the bottom of the blower housing. I suspect you are refferring to the one that exists the firewall by the passenger shock tower. That is the drain hose for the condensation from the AC. I had the passenger floor area on my Intrigue soaking wet because this hose was sticking and not allowing the condensation to trickle out. That is why a lot of these motors exhibit rust because they have at some time or other been "submerged" from the water buildup. The hose on mine was shaped like the end of a balloon to allow water to escape but not let air or debris into the housing. That is my interpretation of what this hose is for. BTW - my blower now squeals on low speed also.
