My car is getting the code 23 for the knock sensor. But when i changed the o2 sensor it was white which means that its running lean. Could it be possible that the knock sensor is faulted and causing my car to retard the timing when its not needed....which would make it run lean? Could there be a ground problem somewhere around the sensor? The engine is a swap. Also i am hearing a weird almost knocking noise around the altenator...whats weird is that it only does it when it idle's down...if i turn the wheels and make it idle up it goes away. What is it and could it possibly be related to the knock problems. I need help here guys before i let some shop overcharge me trying to figure out a simple problem.....locating the problem can get expensive.

Oh...it also jerks when i am driving and i leave it in gear and slow down...like a surge....but only after it is warmed up completely and the check engine light comes on.

about the knock sensor,...that will effect the o2 sensor and will cause the car to seem like it slows down and wont run like it should..it happened with my car so i just got a new knock sensor.....
