FINALLY Painting my car is done (56k beware hell cable/dsl beware)

Ok it has been a roller coaster of a project to get my focken car painted. The guy I had doing it had painted for 6 years and I have seen his work. Also he had just painted my buddys car.
Well it started off as we will paint it this weekend 5 weeks ago.($660 in paint, primer, clear coat Dupont's one step down from the best 7 year warrenty, $140 worth of body work cause its going to be a dark color wanted it perfect) sand blah blah blah, ready for paint well our booth was to cold and paint wrinkle all over. Shitty, time to buy more paint and primer $460 more. So I had to wait 2 weeks from that time cause of money, well he goes on vacation so another week. Then last weekend he strips the car down has to have the body guy come back and redo almost all of it. Good thing he is cool and did not charge a second time. So he shoots the car last weekend and I get to see it monday night. There were so spots I didnt like clear coat got some dust in it so I told him to redo that area. Well all in all a $800 dollar friend paint job ended up costing me $1300 still cheaper than a shop doing it. Well finally get to see it tonight, damn it does look good.

AND Finally finished paint (well still needs to be wet sanded, cut and buffed but you get the Idea) Sorry for the kinda crappy Pics not my camera and it was getting dark will post better ones on monday.


And YES that is 2005 Mercedes-Benz Midnight Blue (kinda hard to tell with out direct sunlight)

In the end the final painting was 4 coats of midnight blue and 6 full coats of clear. So she is shinny. I wish I had my camera tonight and been a hour earlier. But hey thats what sundays for. Oh ya the reason the car is not at my house tonight is that it was starting to rain and I didnt want to drive it in the rain with out seals in the doors, hatch, blah blah blah.

Actully it has tape on it still. Im going tomarrow Sunday to pick it up bright and early so Ill have most of the day to put it back together and take pics. So more pics are coming.

cool, altho ur missing a wing... corner lights, tail lights falling off, exhaust covered and u missed a spot on the left rear :evillol:

More pics. Im pissed today I went to go get my car and found a 10" x 4" area on the top where he sanded to far down or whatever that looks like ass. The whole top has to be redone. So needless to say Im getting a real shop to do it this time. But the rest of the car looks pretty good. I got home way to late to take Daytime pics so I used the nighttime feature on the camera to get a good look at the color. I will get some saytime pics tomarrow when I get home from work.

I know its dirty but oh well cant wash for another couple days.

Thanks for the complements Guys and LADY. Hopefully I can get the top done this weekend and then next week color sand cut polish and put the moldings on. blah blah and all the other sheet to do, like re-carpet it black or dark blue.. I think the rims came out to be a good choice.
