so my old d16z6 got burnt up after the oil plug came out along with all the oil. i'm currently suing the place that changed my oil. so i got another d16z6 already installed and now have an extra engine.
the mechanic at the shop said the head was in good condition and the block was rebuildable. the crank is probably completely shot but the cylinders and rings and such probably just need to be de-burred. my brother and i can mess with my extra engine and i want to do a budget build up. so we want to do everything we can ourselves. my bro has a zc with a snapped rod, i dont know if anything from it will fit into the d16z6 or not.
are there any engines we can get parts from? i know most things from b series engines and d series arn't interchangable but what about valves, retainers, springs, pistons ect? are there kits or guide books available on port and polishing and engine yourself? it doesnt really matter if we fuck it up but i'd like to try, and we wouldn't get too crazy and we'd probably just take off rough edges. what can be done to the stock components? can we polish about everything, or send stuff off to get nitrated? any imput appreciated.
