Well about 2 weeks ago I was driving down a street and I hit a pothole the hole damaged my oil pan, and cracked my transmission housing. damages estimated at about $1700.
talking to the adjusted and he said this perticular claim could go either way... so I may be loosing my ride...
the good news is I will be able to strip it down to most of the mods... and I'll probably end up buying it back...
but insted of going thru the works to get it back on the road, swap stuff over to a 88 CRX Si i found...
I'll keep you guys posted on how all of this turns out

Yikes man, thats really shitty.
But I'm curious as to why you would go through insurance for a motor that isn't worth anything?! An oil pan is like $50 used and transmission housing can't cost much more than that..
I dun get it?

some guy around my area got screwed over by a pot hole, he got the government to pay for the damage done to his car, but you need some hardcore proof of that, plus this happened in canada, dunno how the government is around your area

it's not my insurance, it's the contractor's that did the road (shitty job at that) I don't have collision coverage, so this is a claim against them and I did not want to pay because someone desided to do a half ass job paving a road.

Hard core proof... I have the spot where I hit and the oil trail from that point, had my digi cam and snaped pics.

i'm not in Toronto, I'm in saint-john New-brunswick. I already went to the City workd Dept, and they told me that the stretch of road was still under contract by the contractor that did it. the faxed over my information to that contractor, they send that to their insurance company, who contacted an adjusted who contacted me.
they did an apraisal of the car and will determin if the car will get written off or not.
the liability part has already been determined.
just waiting to hear back from them...
