i replaced the radiator water pump and thermostat. car runs hot then quickly cools down to normal. loses fluid through overflow tank. no fluid in oil or oil in fluid. seems like thermo sticks. replaced thermostat again same thing. flushed system still same. know not good for mileage but going to run w/o thermostat see how it goes. any suggestions would be appreciated. thank you

I would bet money that its your hg, i had the same problem it turned out to be a bhg. i replaced my water pump, thermo, and fan clutch hoping that it would be one of those.

Have you run any cleaner through the system. You may have a clog in the water jacket. Have you done a compression test to make sure the HG is good?

Have you run any cleaner through the system? You may have a clog in the water jacket. There also may be a problem with the heater core. Bypass it and see if the car still overheats. Have you done a compression test to make sure the HG is good?

I had the same problem with my car, although it might be the head gasket i had a small coolant leak in the very back of the engine that would only leak a little and cause it to over heat but the temp gauge would jump around depending on the engine load. However the engie would never completly drain an air bubble would always form feel the top radiator hose when its hot and see if you squeeze it if you cant it has an air bubble
