dead car

ok my 96 just died. 0 lbs compression in cly #2. there is a hole in the pistion. car will not start.
where can i get a zetec replacement new or used for cheap, or a non-svt V6.

way too much work to swap a V6 in there.

swap in a Focus zetec (almost direct swap, need a few machined parts.) Or a zetec out of a contour.

Do you drive your car hard? I don't understand how you could put a hole in the piston.

no i just do a lot of driving.

how many miles were on it? My zetec has a 140k and it still runs like new

I was wrong its not a hole it was realy all rings have been blown off oil too. I just thought it was a hloe from the no compression. But the cylinder is also in very bad shape.

it only had 100k miles.


Anyway how does $1,400 sound for a full engine rebuild.

Eh, I'm not familiar with what Zetecs are going for, but I'm positive you could find a complete engine for much less than that.

you could get a new motor for around 500$
