Just wanted to put out the word. The rumor that a 2.0 MAF is the same as a VR6 MAF is a myth for the jetta IV. I just gave it a try yesterday, I've never seen my dashboard so angry with me. EPC, Traction control, CEL, all came on and stared me in the face for the full 30 minute drive to and from work. I pulled apart the MAF and it looks like there is only one difference, and that is on the outside of the actual MAF when removed from the cylender there is a wire that runs a loop with a resistor on it. I gave a thought to pulling off the wire from my old VR6 maf and soldering it to the 2.0 but decided I'd rather have a crap VR6 maf till the new one arrives than two crap MAF sensors and no car till the new one arrives. Needless to say, it's a bummer to be the one to give the bad news.

What were the Bosch part numbers off the actual sensors (not the housing)? The 2.0 MAF sould work on the VR6 (as well as some 1.8T's), just replacing the MAF won't reset the CEL.
